Norberts Bell47g2 - Scale Heli on the field

Norbert hat seinen Heli vom Verbrenner zum Elektro umgebaut. Nun braucht er 10s 5000mah für 8min Flugzeit (2x5s Akkus in Serie). Genauere Infos zum Heli werden noch nachgeliefert.

This heli was converted from a gas engine to electric. Now it uses 2x5cell 5000mah batteries (serial - so 10cell 5000) with around 8mins flighttime.
The slowmo was done with Sony Vegas 10 / Twixtor plugin - as a first try.

Videotipp: Fly it like you stole it

Hier zeigt einer vor, wie's wirklich geht, bzw. wie actionreich man fliegen kann, wenn man seinen Kopter riskiert!

He shows how it really goes! You can get great actions flights if you don't care bout your copter!

Controlling AR Drone with Windows Laptop and Joystick / Gamepad!!

If you're not OK with the tilty controls of your iPad/iPhone and crashed your ARDrone more often you should take a look at the free Windows Software I just tried out: WD ARDrone
I found it here in this forum
My tips:
The software is ready to run - no compiler or else needed! Just follow this steps:
Unpack the file to your laptop (I used Windows7)
Connect your Joystick and calibrate it in windows control panel
Turn on your ARDrone, press the unbind button on the bottom
connect your laptop to the wifi of the ardrone and note the network name (SSID)
start WD ARDrone
in Options set the SSID from your ARDrone
set the controls as you like (I recommend setting start/land buttons somewhere you get easy and also the emergency button - you'll need these often until you have your controls set up good and are comfortable with the joystick).
I couldn't use my gamepads - I couldn't set up mode2 (gas and yaw left, nick/roll right) - so I got my Microsoft Sidewinder Joystick - here it worked better.
Set the right hull / environment in the options too - or the drone will react weird!
Use the inc/dec speed buttons to make the drone react less jumpy!

Once you got safe with the controls (using the indoor hull on a windfree day on a big field, you get alot of new fun with your ARDrone (mine sat on the shelf some month now till I found this software!)
